In 2010 the company Datacentrix, a partner in South Africa, won the tender for the construction of a system of electronic documents in the Department of Science and Technology, Government of South Africa.
It was necessary to transfer functionality of existing system Hummingbird to the new system based on Alfresco 3.3 Enterprise Edition. The main reason was a lack of support of the old system and the new requirements arising from the work of the department.
For the automation there were selected several business processes: contract management, management of leave requests, management of the Minister's requests and notes, as well as several documents under the HR department.
The project lasted for 8 months and trial maintenance began on June 1, 2011. The customer had set up integration with Active Directory, the outgoing e-mail. Now the system is in commercial operation.
